Intuitive Embroidery: A journey into meditative stitches by Emma Cassi.

€150.00
sold out

In many textile traditions, embroidery is not just decorative, but a way to settle the mind and connect with inner creativity. In this immersive workshop, you will be invited to slow down, follow the rhythm of your breath, and let your imagination wander freely. Guided by Emma’s gentle approach, a silk square changes into a living tapestry of thread and colors. Using her collection of vintage haberdashery, you’ll learn a handful of fundamental stitches, discovering how each one can become a simple act of mindfulness.

As you stitch, you’ll explore embroidery’s capacity to bring calmness and focus, cultivating a space to dream of gardens, flowing garments, or natural elements. Rather than striving for a polished final product, this workshop celebrates the creative process itself, inviting you to embrace imperfection and let intuition guide each stitch.

By the end, you’ll hold a personal talisman or silk piece that can adorn your home, be worn as a scarf, or simply cherished as a reminder of the meditative joy found in needle and thread.

No prior sewing experience is required, only an openness to let your hands and heart lead the way.

The duration of the workshop will be roughly three hours.

All materials needed are provided for during the workshop.

Workshops Intuitive Embroidery: A journey into meditative stitches by Emma Cassi.

Emma Cassi.

Emma Cassi, originally from France, brings a creative experience and an intuitive connection with nature to her workshops at XTANT.

Her artistic journey took a transformative turn during an art project in Aubrac, where she discovered the beauty of capturing landscapes and the resilience of communities preserving endangered traditions. This experience led her to study landscape drawing and garden art at the Beaux-Arts in Dijon. She established a distinctive style, merging vintage lace with beads and sequins into exquisite jewelry designs.

In 1999, Emma moved to London and flourished as a stylist and jewelry designer, collaborating with renowned brands like HP France Japan, Designers Guild, Cath Kidston, and Anthropologie.

After sustaining an injury from years of meticulous embroidery, Emma reinvented her creative practice. Earning a degree in massage therapy, she delved into herbalism and olfacto-therapy, exploring natural dyeing with plant infusions as a means of expressing her deep bond with the natural world.

In these time of chaos and despair it is all the more urgent to bring the community together and build alternatives. We are lucky to be surrounded by hands that know how to make things of beauty that inspire hope. The yearly gathering in May takes the entire year to prepare and we are happy to share some of the behind the scenes with you. Hopefully to entice you to come and build with us.
