HUACA 2025

May 9th - 13th 2025

AN OVERVIEW

Textiles have always been woven into the realm of the sacred. From birth, to weddings, to death rites almost every part of our lives — important or mundane — is framed by them.

In 2025, XTANT took this connection to the sacred as its primary theme. Seeking to examine the value systems that inform what we view as sacred, as well as the methods and labor we imbue onto the clothes, textiles and ornaments we consider spiritually important.

Overseeing 80 artists from 30 different countries, photographers, collectors, and the largest amount of visitors it has ever had in the island; this years edition was brimming with a sense of pure optimism and a feeling of harmony.

The environmental design and curated space for each artist flowed together seamlessly and, for the moment, transformed the space between the walls of the ancient palace into something entirely different to any event or fair seen before.
