“Lafaani takes its name from Urdu, meaning immortality- a word that shapes both its philosophy and practice. Rooted in Indian craft heritage, Lafaani is a design-led, circular fashion label that seeks to create garments that live beyond seasons, resisting the ephemeral nature of fashion. Through handwoven textiles, natural dyes, hand embroidery, and upcycled materials, the brand works with a deep sense of responsibility toward land, craft, and community; honouring the labour, skill, and lived knowledge of the artisans who bring each piece to life.

Founded by Drishti and Rashmick, the brand began not with form, but with intention- emerging from years of study in environmental and sustainability sciences and an immersive journey through India’s small towns and artisan landscapes. These experiences became an unlearning, a return to ancestral wisdom, and the foundation of Lafaani’s design philosophy.

Guided by the principles of circularity, its designs emphasize functionality, adaptability, and longevity- often fluid in form, made to evolve with the wearer. At its core, Lafaani holds that what we wear reflects our values; its practice aspires to create clothing that quietly carries conviction, memory, and care, allowing material, craft, and community to endure.”
