Daniel Rodriguez - FRANCE
“Daniel’s path into fashion was not preordained, but quietly traced through silhouettes sketched in the margins of his school notebooks.
Initially drawn to Literature and Theatre, which he practiced from a young age, he studied at the Sorbonne before turning to fashion through his fascination with costume. At the Atelier Chardon Savard, he developed a sensitivity to deconstruction and theatricality, influenced by designers such as Martin Margiela, Rei Kawakubo, John Galliano and Alexander McQueen.
He later spent six years working in PR for houses including Dries Van Noten, Vivienne Westwood and Jacquemus, before leaving to fully dedicate himself to creation.
Rooted in an ecological approach, his work focuses on reusing and transforming existing garments. Each piece is reconstructed to carry a renewed sense of character and quiet drama, embodying a (sometimes-humorous) dialogue between past and future.”
