Andrea Sender - SPAIN

Andrea Sender is a textile artist and designer based in Menorca. Connected to textiles as heritage and family legacy. In 2013 she began experimenting with natural fibres, silk and wool and became fascinated by the versatility and possibilities of a material that is currently considered waste. 

Her practice revolves around regenerative thinking. Through the element 'wool' she explores the possibilities of the circularity of the material and the network of interconnections that exist between the integral management of the territory, landscape, art, ancestral craft heritage, the conservation of nature and its biodiversity or resilience in the face of climate change.

With an eclectic background, a twenty-year career in the world of filmmaking and a master's degree IEB of Bio construction at the Instituto Español de Baubiologie. In 2022 she participated as a collaborator and resident in the Netherlands in Studio Claudy Jongstra and was part of the teaching team in different workshops of the artist. 

Andrea Sender Studio explores, through limited edition capsule collections, different possibilities for the reintroduction of natural materials and vegetal colour in interiors.
