Angel Chen - CHINA
“Angel Chen, a Chinese fashion designer, was born in Shantou, Guangdong in 1991 and grew up in Shenzhen. In 2014, she graduated from Central Saint Martins in London and made her debut on the international stage with her graduation collection "Les Noces".
In the same year, Chen Anqi founded the eponymous avant-garde brand ANGEL CHEN. With her exceptional talent, she was not only selected as one of the top five graduating designers of the year by i-D magazine, but also awarded the "Ones to Watch" prize by Fashion Scouts UK, and featured in a special report by Vogue magazine.
In her subsequent career, Chen Anqi has garnered significant attention from the international fashion industry. In 2016, she was named to Forbes' "30 Under 30" list of young talents, and the following year, she made it to the BoF 500 list for 2017. In July 2018, she achieved even greater success, clinching the crown of the International Woolmark Prize for the 2018/19 Asian category.
In January 2020, Chen Anqi, as a representative of Chinese designers, was invited to participate in Netflix's fashion reality show "Next in Fashion". With her distinctive avant-garde aesthetic and exquisite tailoring skills, she stood out in the fierce global competition and successfully made it to the top four. Her fashion influence continued to expand, and in 2022, she was awarded the title of "Designer of the Year" by CCTV's "China Fashion Honour Release". In 2025, she was shortlisted for the "SUSTASIA Sustainable Asian Fashion Award”
