ALÉ ABARZÚA - CHILE

Alé Abarzúa is a Chilean Visual artist, Art director, designer, and a student architecture.

“Since childhood, i’ve learned by experience. Feeling a constant drive to know different places, people, jobs, cities, materials, and flavours.

I studied arquitecture for a year, where i learned to observe the ways in which we inhabit and configure our spaces, it was then that i recognised the pressing necessity I felt to explore the senses and decided to transfer to a licence in Art, in which i fell in love with the creative process.

[…]

I then worked in different projects across Chile and beyond. Being director to gastronomic projects (Café Santiago, 2001; Café ABARZUA, 2004; Casa ABARZUA, 2006; Cafetería y Restaurante Gabriela -ubicados en el GAM-, 2010), as well as those in arquitecture and design. (Nois 2014, Diventare 2016) I coordinate multidisciplinary teams of artists, develop businesses, and hold workshops made to liven up the creativity of their participants. (INGENIERIA UC, 2016; COPAIPO 2016; …)

My professional career has profoundly changed me, and for long periods, both from the hustle and bustle of Santiago to the desolate enviornment of the Atacama desert, I’ve leaned the experience of walking paths that at any given time go uphill, remain flat, or tumble downhill. In this way, I invite all who accept the challenge of sharing tools in the creative process, of learning in community, and of working as a collective in projects that can create new ways of seeing the world, and trail new paths that improve people’s lives.”
