Matthew Addonizio
Matthew Addonizio is an American artist and designer whose studio’s practice focuses on the concept of wearable art pieces.
Connecting dots between art, craft, and fashion, it explores textile and garment construction, working with up-cycled, organic, and consciously sourced materials.
Its Clothing’s shapes are voluminous, minimal, genderless. Carefully designed for minimal waste, each piece is entirely one of a kind, yet fabric off-cuts from one project are used as the start of the next.
Matthew studied studio art media, including ceramics, painting, printmaking, woodworking, and costume design at Kalamazoo College and, after an 18 year long career in retail display, now works in Philadelphia.
