Pascal Gatzen
Pascale Gatzen is a netherlands-based artist, educator, and designer.
Her practice, Gatzen, produces and facilitates large collaborative projects, typically centred around fashion. This, done in the hopes of both promoting fashion as a form of togetherness and advancing cooperative production models in the industry.
An Associate Professor at Parsons of Design in New York, she developed and implemented an alternative curriculum, emphasising community and self-expression.
At ArtEZ, The University of the Arts in Arnhem, she developed and headed ‘Practice Held in Common’, a Master of Arts in Fine Art and Design program rooted in the principles of Nonviolent Communication.
She is also a founding member of ‘friends of light,’ a worker cooperative for textile production in the Hudson Valley. As well as co-founder of the Linen Project. Her work has been shown and published internationally.
