TALASIN

A textiles studio, nestled in the foothills of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains in the village of Ait Moulay, near Marrakech.

Handwoven by women weavers who are being trained to remember lost traditions, such as knotting and dying the wool as their ancestors did, without harming the environment.

Benefiting the women weavers through teaching and employment.

Talasin is an Amazigh name meaning tales or stories. Going back to the true language of the Amazigh women who, under colonial rule, were suppressed for centuries in the use of their native language.

Transparent all the way from source, only using live wool from sheep herds that freely roam pastures in the High Atlas Mountains. Wool washed, carded and spun entirely by hand and dyed with plants locally sourced.
