Birgitta de Vos
Brigitta de vos is an artist, designer, writer and photographer.
Embarked on an exploration of many artistic fields, Brigitta has founded and led several brands, written four books and composed multiple artworks. Weaving together a tapestry like collage of several doctrines and ideas united under the beliefs in the principles of artisanry, environmentalism and the renewal of the discarded.
Her Project Iron Lady, beginning in 2015 Amsterdam, turned a large, rusting iron Cargo freight into a beautifully austere and modernist Houseboat. Playing with spacing and lighting in the large vessel, its desaturated colours and baroque painting-eque sunlight focuses turn its living space into a museum of and about itself.
Since this mid Career behemoth of a project, Brigitta has gone on to pen and create the textile collage ‘soul dressing’, The exhibitions ‘Your Turn’ and ’Another Turn’ of the works of Annemieke Boots and X+L respectively, Placing ceramics, lingams and silks in a choreographed composition within the Iron Lady. And, Most recently, her work in 2021, titled Betweenity and constructed as a mirror piece to her book ‘All in nothing Nothing in all’.
