A short two days after the end of the Leadership program, the event floor will finally open its doors with a party held for all of our artisans, accredited press, and VIP Patron pass holders.

Yeah, we know, booo and all that, but it is necessary and — to put it in Tech terms — it’s more of a final beta test than an open release.

Used to observe and test the environment and design of the space, this first day also gives us the room to find different small changes we might have to make before the opening bell strikes and the crowds quadruple in size.

Patron’s and press will see the exhibition and market in its complete form, with an exclusive first access (or even first call) to the many works brought or made for this edition of XTANT.

And the Opening… uh — Opens! As the real first day of the event, May 10th will likely be as hectic as ever, hosting a total 11 Workshops, two talks, and the bustling crowd of an opening day.

It’s a somewhat obvious pro-tip, but if you’re looking for something from any specific artist, show. Up. On. The. First. Day. Things move a lot faster than you’d think.

And the final bell tolls. May 13th is the final hurrah of the event before we take a very anticipated rest.

That’s a joke, we still have to clean up, tally, contact everyone, pay all accommodations, and deal with any issues that might crop up in order to get everyone back home in a smooth and orderly manner. But you know, at least the peak is behind us, right?

-that’s that! A much less prosaic one all things considered but, eh.

This year of XTANT comes with a lot of new firsts for us. New forms of engagement, new forms of internal organisation, and the broadest gathering of artisans we’ve ever had by far. It has definitely pushed us further and with greater strength than any previous year has. And still, despite this, we could not be looking forward to it any more than we are.

After nearly a full year of tireless preparations it all ends up going by in flash. a bit like fireworks!

So without getting overly sappy: Thank you.

Genuinely! Thank all of you for helping bring this project to light and continuing to support us through the years.

It is hard to promise anything in absolutes during this decade, but we will keep doing and expanding the scope of our work at XTANT for as long as we are physically capable to.

So do show up and help us spread the word!

This one will be our best so far.
